a couple of more recent pics

Someday, I will remember to tape down my paper before I start painting. It doesn't make a huge difference for the physical painting itself, but whenever I go to scan these things in I get those ugly shadows. :P

my spirit animal

THE WILY COCKATRICE SPEAKS! It... it does not have much to say, it turns out.

SPACE GHOSTS ATTACK

Quick-ish color study piece for testing out some natural media brushes I downloaded.

somewhat recent photoshop sketchdump

Okay: really, only some of these are sketches - sometimes I go overboard with rendering stuff in natural-brush styles. And they aren't that recent. Some of these have been sitting on my hard drive for months! But oh well.

Still need to add a background to this one. WHOOPS me and my forgetting to start drawings with all of that silly "context" in mind.

Every page of funny animals needs a sad cowboy to balance it out.

This last one was inspired by the lumpy demon guys in "Shuck". I am perhaps overly fond of drawing short, lumpy things.

sketchdump

A 100% accurate depiction of myself.
TREES: evidently I like drawing them. Might finish this up sometime, might not.
Unfinished drawing inspired by a weird round-robin interactive fiction game between some friends and I. (This scene: MERE MOMENTS from the player's untimely and hilarious death)
Oh, hey, whaddaya know? More trees! Mostly for the sake of working out color palettes.

Raccoon House (fin)

I think I'm going to try to finish what I start more often. Makes me feel all warm n' fuzzy inside.

Okay, so to give credit where credit's due - the textures I used for this piece are from these awesome people:

the crimson spotted owlmoose

I've been kinda busy lately, but I every once in a while I need to get a monster painting done.

It's puzzdog!

Over on The Independant Gaming Source forums, someone started a thread called DRAW PUZZDOG. Puzzdog is apparently a game character that fights evil cats with magnets and hair dryers? What?

I drew this one a couple days after watching/being subjected to "Flash Gordon". CAN YOU TELL??????

And here's a decidedly different take, a work in progress - after I decided I wanted to work on my perspective and backgrounds a little more. I'm thinking of replacing puzzdog altogether since he's just STANDING there.

some recent photoshop doodley stuff

A hag! I think she's consulting the mousy thing on her shoulder, probably.
Oh god I don't even know what this is going to turn into when it is finished.

portrait: smiley

she's doing neck stretching exercises.

portrait: acrobat

Or a clown? Or someone going to the beach in a stripey leotard? I don't know anymore.

portrait: dog

This isn't a new development or anything, but I really like to draw characters that look like they're made of melting dough.

DETECTIVE BULLDOG (semi-recent WIP)

French bulldog, that is. Colors for the background photoreferenced from google image search (I think).

moon lizards

Just a little photoshop practice.

garden pig

old photoshop picture I haven't gotten around to finishing, probably because the composition sucks and I'd rather start from scratch

the wolfman stands around outside for no particular reason

He wore lipstick but forgot to pluck his eyebrows!  Shame, wolfman. Shame.

rabbits

Just some little rabbit paintings before I post, like, HALF of my sketchbook. (I plugged in my scanner again today)

liquor pig

Another painting done in the midst of work. Doodling on paper just ends up getting in the way of everything else at my workstation, so I usually end up creating a file in photoshop to doodle in. Lately I've been getting carried away, I suppose!

dragons

Painted this guy up at work today, might refine it a little more (but not TOO much)
This fella is also from a doodle I did at work.
