Someday, I will remember to tape down my paper before I start painting. It doesn't make a huge difference for the physical painting itself, but whenever I go to scan these things in I get those ugly shadows. :P
Okay: really, only some of these are sketches - sometimes I go overboard with rendering stuff in natural-brush styles. And they aren't that recent. Some of these have been sitting on my hard drive for months! But oh well.
Still need to add a background to this one. WHOOPS me and my forgetting to start drawings with all of that silly "context" in mind.
Every page of funny animals needs a sad cowboy to balance it out. This last one was inspired by the lumpy demon guys in "Shuck". I am perhaps overly fond of drawing short, lumpy things.
TREES: evidently I like drawing them. Might finish this up sometime, might not.
Unfinished drawing inspired by a weird round-robin interactive fiction game between some friends and I. (This scene: MERE MOMENTS from the player's untimely and hilarious death)
Oh, hey, whaddaya know? More trees! Mostly for the sake of working out color palettes.
Over on The Independant Gaming Source forums, someone started a thread called DRAW PUZZDOG. Puzzdog is apparently a game character that fights evil cats with magnets and hair dryers? What?
I drew this one a couple days after watching/being subjected to "Flash Gordon". CAN YOU TELL??????
And here's a decidedly different take, a work in progress - after I decided I wanted to work on my perspective and backgrounds a little more. I'm thinking of replacing puzzdog altogether since he's just STANDING there.
A hag! I think she's consulting the mousy thing on her shoulder, probably. Oh god I don't even know what this is going to turn into when it is finished.
Another painting done in the midst of work. Doodling on paper just ends up getting in the way of everything else at my workstation, so I usually end up creating a file in photoshop to doodle in. Lately I've been getting carried away, I suppose!
